David Grate was a Republican candidate in the 2008 congressional elections for the 22nd Congressional District (map) of New York. He was seeking the Republican nomination to challenge incumbent Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-N.Y.), but lost a primary to George K. Phillips on September 9, 2008.[1]
