Gallegly voted for the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 that started the Iraq War.[1]

Pays wife for campaign work

In October 2006, the Sunlight Foundation, a Washington-based non-profit organization which advocates better transparency in government, reported that Gallegly’s campaign committee paid his wife $41,792 to serve as the campaign manager during 2005-2006. [1]

Biography

Gallegly was born March 7, 1944 in Huntington Park, California. He was educated at Los Angeles State College, and was a real estate broker and member of the Simi Valley, California City Council before entering the House.

2006 elections

In 2006, the Democrats nominated Jill Martinez to face Gallegly in his November 2006 bid for reelection. Gallegely retained his seat. (See U.S. congressional elections in 2006)[2]
