Global warming, scientifically speaking, is a worldwide increase in atmospheric temperature. This type of climate change is seen as a period of increases in global temperature, which is alternating with periods of global cooling, and is a natural occurrence as part of an interval warming trend which has occurred multiple times throughout Earth's geological history.[1]
