Marta Ann Jorgensen was a Democratic candidate in the 2008 congressional elections for the 24th Congressional District (map) of California. She won the Democratic nomination in the June 2008 primaries, but lost to incumbent Elton Gallegly (R-Calif.) in the November 2008 U.S. congressional elections.[1]
