Griffin believes that BP should be held financially responsible for the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. He also believes the cap on liability should be raised, but he does believe there should be cap. He says that, "Without it [liability cap], only the very largest companies can compete, and highly successful smaller companies will be forced from the market."

Griffin does not support the health care reform bill. He also does not support Pelosi’s request that the Senate vote not be recorded. He stated, "The healthcare plan will negatively affect Arkansas's budget, raise taxes, require citizens to purchase insurance, allow taxpayer dollars to be spent on abortions and increase government's involvement in our lives."
