Alan Bateman is a Republican candidate in the 2008 congressional elections for the 12th Congressional District (map) of New Jersey. He has the Republican nomination so he will be challenging incumbent Rep. Rush Holt (D-N.J.) in November 2008.

Alan Bateman is presently the Deputy Mayor of Holmdel Township in Monmouth County. A resident of New Jersey for over two decades, Bateman won election to the Holmdel Township Committee in 2005 after running a grass-root campaign focused on fiscal responsibility and sustainable quality-of-life for residents. He served as the Republican Municipal Chairman for his township for three years prior to his election. [1]

Bateman has the Republican nomination so he will be challenging incumbent Rep. Rush Holt (D-N.J.) in November 2008.[2]
