Verifiable Elections

Curtis has been an advocate of verifiable elections since the 2000 federal election cycle, when he created a vote-fraud prototype that could easily manipulate electronic voting systems. Curtis claims this was done at the request of Rep. Tom Feeney (D-Fla.), who was then a lobbyist at the same firm, Yang Enterprises, Inc. Curtis programmed a prototype that "would allow the controllers of the [voting] machines to alter the vote and choose the winners of elections without regard for the actual will of the voters."[3]

According to Curtis, the accountability of America's election system is integral to its residents' trust in the voting process, and he argues that a voter-verified, paper-ballot system is the only way to ensure credibility. Curtis has said securing elections and ensuring they are free and fair would be one of his highest priorities.[3]

Bio

Clint Curtis was born in rural Salem, Illinois in 1958. Growing up in a small town, he was instilled with small town values of doing what’s right for your fellow man and to be involved in the community. Clint sees himself as much a Floridian as a resident of Illinois. He split his time growing up living with his father in Bradenton Beach, Florida, during the summers and enjoying the simple farm life of his grandparents who raised him during the winter. He still believes that doing the right thing is more important than making a profit and that love of country comes before personal considerations.[citation needed]

Gifted with a quick and facile mind, Clint has always excelled in academics. While Clint was at Illinois Wesleyan University, Clint's grandparents and father passed away. Needing to juggle both a full time job and his studies to put himself through school, he transferred to Illinois State University to take advantage of a more flexible schedule.

Clint became a computer programmer in 1985 and has been responsible for successful deployments of database, prototype, and document management systems for:

  • NASA
  • Department of Human Services (Washington DC)
  • Florida Department of Transportation
  • Florida Department of Law Enforcement
  • Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission
  • Florida School Food Service
  • Florida State Technology Office
  • Exxon Mobil
  • Ryder trucks
  • And many custom small business applications
