David Joy was the Republican nominee in the 2008 congressional elections for the 51st Congressional District (map) of California. He was the Republican nominee challenging incumbent Rep. Bob Filner (D-Calif.). He won primary elections, which took place on June 3, 2008, but lost the general election in November.[1]
