Meet David

I have been an entrepreneur all my life and I want my only employer to be you – the good people of New Jersey. I want to be a citizen legislator – meaning I approach the legislative process without the typical political background of being a lawyer or an academic who thinks they are better than the people who voted them into office. I am asking that you send me to Congress to be – A Voice for the People…Your Voice…. [[Image:|image]]My parents came here on a steam liner after the United States liberated Norway from Nazi Germany during World War II.  I started college at Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, then returned to New York City to attend CSI (College of Staten Island) where I studied biology and business administration. As I entered the workforce, I applied the lessons learned from my parents that hard work, commitment and sacrifice are requirements for being successful. I had grown up in my parents small businesses. They taught me—if you can envision it, and desire it – it can be yours. At the age of 19, I started a construction and home improvement company. I successfully ran that business for 6 years and then took over the family business, Larsen Windows and Doors. Over the ensuing 30 year history of our family business, we have assisted in employing hundreds of people.  I know what it is like when your business is responsible for the livelihood of real people and their families. As an entrepreneur, I started investing in real estate. With my small business ventures doing well, I moved to New Jersey and built a gentleman’s farm where I am a registered New Jersey farmer and have raised American quarter horses. I have lived here for 15 years.  I have been married to my lovely wife Donna for almost 30 years and we have three beautiful daughters. I am not a Harvard MBA or lawyer, and I never worked for a big Wall Street firm. I have no ties and owe no favors to big business so I have no political obligations, nor do I want them – I am obviously not a career politician. I have been an entrepreneur all my life and I want my only employer to be you – the good people of New Jersey. I want to be a citizen legislator – meaning I approach the legislative process without the typical political background of being a lawyer or an academic who thinks they are better than the people who voted them into office. I am asking that you send me to Congress to be – A Voice for the People…Your Voice.  I am a common person committed to the common good.  I have worked hard, focused, attained my personal goals and sacrificed to grow my companies thereby creating opportunities for my employees, my family and myself. I now want to turn my passion and entrepreneurial skills toward making a difference for the people of New Jersey and the country I love.
