Edward Gubics is the Republican candidate in the 2008 congressional elections for the 13th Congressional District (map) of Michigan. He is the Republican nominee to challenge incumbent Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (D-Mich.). The primary took place on August 5, 2008.


Positions, record and controversies

Edward Gubics is committed to the revitalization of our economy, Pro-Life, for a strong national defense. Supportive of our Armed Forces and Veterans, supportive of traditional family values, and for lower taxes.[citation needed]


Raised in southwest Detroit. Attended Detroit Public School, graduated Cass Technical H.S. (1980). Graduated of Wayne State University; Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences ('86)and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry ('95).

Material Handler (member of Service Employees International Union) and Pharmacy Technician at Harper Hospital. Pharmacy Technician at Outer Drive Hospital and Wyandotte General Hospital. Employed as a Chemical Research Technician.[citation needed]

2008 elections

Gubics won the Republican nomination to challenge Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (D-Mich.) in the 2008 congressional elections.[1]
