Coble voted for the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 that started the Iraq War.[1]

Bio
Born 18 March 1931, in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was educated at Appalachian State University (1949-50) Guilford College (1958), and earned a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1962. Coble served in the U.S. Coast Guard (1953-56) and the Coast Guard Reserve (1960-82). Between 1961 and 1967 he was a Field Claim Representative & Supervisor for Auto Insurance. He was also a practicing attorney (1979-84) before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1984.

In 2006, the Democrats nominated Rory Blake to face Coble in his November 2006 bid for reelection. (See U.S. congressional elections in 2006) [1] Coble retained his seat.
