Kim Schmett is the Republican nominee in the 2008 congressional elections for the 3rd Congressional District (map) of Iowa. He is the Republican nominee seeking to challenge incumbent Rep. Leonard Boswell (D-Iowa.). He ran unopposed in primary elections which took place on June 3, 2008.

Bio
Schmett, a veteran of the U.S. Army, is the executive director of the state association for children’s homes and shelters. He is the former director of the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals, and served as the chief of staff for former Congressman Greg Ganske. [1]
