Madeleine Bordallo, a Democrat, has served as the Delegate from Guam to the U. S. House of Representatives since 2002. She is the first woman to represent the South Pacific island in Congress.

Reparations for Japanese Latin Americans

Bordallo cosponsored The Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Latin Americans of Japanese Descent Act in the 110th Congress which would establish a commission that would determine the facts and circumstances involving the relocation, internment and deportation of Japanese Latin Americans.[1]

Bio

She was born May 31, 1933 in Graceville, Minnesota, and attended St. Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana and the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was a member of the Guam Senate, an unsuccessful candidate for Governor of Guam in 1990, and Lieutenant Governor of Guam from 1995 - 2002. Her late husband, Ricardo Bordallo served as Governor of Guam from 1975 to 1979 and from 1983 to 1987.
