Michael P. Hsing (traditional Chinese - 邢天佑; pinyin :Xíng tiān yòu; Wade Giles : Hsing Tien-yu; born August 31, 1955 in Taipei, Taiwan). Hsing has served as a Bridgewater Councilman since 2002. Hsing is currently running as an Independent candidate for the open House seat in the 7th congressional district of New Jersey that is currently held by Rep. Mike Ferguson (R-N.J.), who is retiring in 2008. Hsing has been a resident of Bridgewater, New Jersey since 1990.

Personal

Michael P. Hsing graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature. He and his wife Tammy came to the United States in 1983, allowing Michael to earn a Master of Science degree from New York Institute of Technology. Michael worked for 15 years at the renowned Bell Labs, before becoming Technical Director of Spherion Technology. Currently he serves as Director of Information Technology Compliance at CIBER, Inc. He is an alumnus of the celebrated Leadership New Jersey program and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Leadership Somerset program. Michael and Tammy have two sons, Arthur and Brian.
