Description

You're all set to launch your campaign - but where do you find your audience, activists, constituents and supporters? This panel identifies ways to the best bang for the buck from purchased lists, the voter file and your legislative district matched member/employee dataset. Industry leaders present their case studies of effective, innovative approaches. Issues of data security and data integrity will also be discussed.

Speakers

  • Andrew Tavani (Moderator) - Andrew Tavani serves as Aristotle's Vice President of National Data Sales. Andrew holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Hartford, and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from Georgia State University. His emphasis during his graduate studies was in Electoral Politics and Government Practices. He has also earned a Certificate in Political Communications and Campaigning from Georgia State University. Andrew has been with Aristotle for 14 years, working as a Political Technology Specialist and National Sales Manager until 2002 when he was promoted to the position of Vice President of National Sales. Over the past several years, he has advised many national organizations, campaigns, consultants, and PAC's on the uses of voter files, micro-targeting, and political technology. He has extensive knowledge in the area of electoral politics and campaign strategy, and is a member of the American Association of Political Consultants. Andrew has presented on voter file panels for Politics Magazine and (other panel name HERE) in 2008. He is married to his wife Shawn and they have a daughter Ellie. He resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

  • Michael Meyers - Michael Meyers is Partner and President of Target Point Consulting. Over the past several years, Michael has worked to provide MicroTargeting, direct voter contact consulting and research services to a number of organizations including the McCain-Palin '08 and Bush-Cheney '04 campaigns and the Republican National Committee. His other clients have included the Republican Governor's Association, Governors Perdue, Schwarzenegger and Lingle and key congressional races across the country. Michael has also worked with a number of corporate clients including Wal-Mart, Pfizer, SBC, DTE Energy and Magnolia Pictures / 2929 Entertainment. Prior to joining TargetPoint, Michael was the executive director of the Michigan Republican Party. He also worked in Michigan as the director of former Lieutenant Governor Dick Posthumus's political action committee and in the Michigan Legislature in a number of roles including chief of staff to the Chairman of Technology and Energy Committee and as finance director of the Senate Republican Campaign Committee. Michael's work on Presidential campaigns began in 1996 as a field representative for the Dole-Kemp campaign. Michael graduated from James Madison College at Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in International Relations in 1995. In 2003, just after joining TargetPoint Consulting, he was named one of the Rising Stars in Politics by Campaigns and Elections magazine. He currently resides with his wife Angela in Alexandria, Virginia.
  • Chad Mitchell - Chad Mitchell joined Illumen in September of 2007 to develop online advocacy strategies and campaigns for organizations such as Fortune 500 companies, national and international trade associations, and local, regional, and state chambers of commerce. Chad is the former Executive Director of the Office of Grassroots and Advocacy Programs for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world's largest business federation, representing over three million businesses of every size, sector and region. In this capacity, he was responsible for directing and implementing the Chamber's grassroots, advocacy, and election-related activities. In 2002, Mitchell was part of the team that developed Vote for Business.com, an aggressive online voter education tool designed to better engage the electorate in the political process. Featuring tools that allow users to register to vote, request absentee ballots, and compare candidates, Vote for Business was an unparalleled success during the 2004 and 2006 elections. During the 2004 elections, Mitchell led the Chamber and its over 400 VoteForBusiness partnering associations, corporations, and chambers of commerce in communicating with over 40 million Americans. This translated into big wins for the business community. Presently, the Chamber has over 800 partners in the VoteForBusiness.com program which has achieved national recognition for advances in technological innovations, online persuasion, and viral marketing. Illumen is proud to be the lead technology partner and vendor on the program. A graduate of Penn State, Mitchell served with the National Association of Federal Credit Unions and Associated Builders and Contractors before joining the Chamber in mid-2000. From 1994 until 1998, Mitchell served as Chief of Staff to two different members of the Virginia General Assembly. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of those members' legislative and political operations.
