Philip Forgit is a Democratic candidate for the 1st Congressional District of Virginia

Philip Forgit was a Democratic candidate in the 2008 congressional elections for the 1st Congressional District (map) of Virginia. He was seeking the Democratic nomination in a special election to replace deceased Rep. Jo Ann Davis (R-Va.). The special election took place on December 11, 2007.

Bio

Philip Forgit is a Veteran of the Iraq War and a Bronze Star recipient . He served with a Naval Special Warfare Unit as an advisor to the Iraqi Army in 2005-2006. A Naval Reservist, Philip was mobilized from his former job as a 4th grade teacher. [1]

2008 elections

Forgit was seeking the Democratic nomination to replace Rep. Jo Ann Davis (R-Va.) in a special election. He lost the election by a margin of 61%-37%.[2][3][4]
