Phillip Avillo was the Democratic candidate in the 2008 congressional elections for the 19th Congressional District (map) of Pennsylvania. He was the Democratic nominee to challenge incumbent Rep. Todd Platts (R-Pa.). The primary took place on April 22, 2008, and Avillo captured his party's nomination.[1] Avillo lost to Platts in the November general election.[2]
