Richard Matthews is the Republican candidate in the 2008 congressional elections for the 2nd Congressional District (map) of Maryland. He won the Republican nomination to challenge incumbent Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Md.) by running unopposed.[1]

On February 12th, Matthews won the Republican nomination by running unopposed. He will challenge Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Md.) in the 2008 congressional elections.[2].[3]
