Family's Involvement in Politics

Robin is a 3rd generation "liberal Democrat" to hold elective office in Missouri, from a very active Democratic family. Her grandfather was a US Senator. Her father was Governor. He died in plane crash in 2000 while running a tight race against John Ashcroft for US Senator, which he won even though he was dead. Her father's death led led to her mother's appointment to the US Senate for one term. Her brother Russell is a US Representative from St Louis.
