SourceWatch:Articles that need fixing

This page contains a list of things you can do
to help improve SourceWatch and its projects. There are several different kinds of things to do:

These are articles that need fixing on SourceWatch. Fixes needed can include copy editing, sources needed, erroneous information or anything else. Feel free to add an article to the list or, better yet, fix one of the articles and then take it off the list (make sure to add a note to the articles discussion page explaining what you did)! When adding an article that needs to be fixed, make sure to explain what specifically is needed. If the article is under a section heading that has a link, that link goes to a portal where the to-do item is likely also listed under "things you can do." Help keep track of which articles are updated by removing it from that list, too.

  • I just went through all of the redirects listed at Special:DoubleRedirects, which after some effort, is now down to below fifty items, and is quite capable of going to zero with a bit more attention, as described below.
  • There is a related set of articles that have been renamed repeatedly, which I nominated to delete the first one of each of the double redirects. (Again, here, no article is pointing to the initial redirect.) Deleting these too would shorten the redirects by one, and make it easier to tell if the next redirect is used by another article, or not.

Thanks Redtexture, I've gone back through those remaining on the list and got it down to just over 30 with the remaining ones related to Congresspedia. --Bob Burton 19:43, 30 July 2007 (EDT)

  • The article on the Israeli political party Likud looks like it was imported from Wikipedia and needs referencing. I have relocated the unreferenced material to the talk page and reduced the article to a stub for the moment.--Bob Burton 14:55, 7 December 2007 (EST)

Member of Congress or committee articles

  • Jo Ann Davis#Special election for seat - I just don't understand the specifications for the special election, especially the last sentence or two. This should probably be reworked, going back to the original source, to make it more clear.--Conor Kenny 23:34, 15 October 2007 (EDT)
  • The Randy "Duke" Cunningham article needs to be overhauled and updated with respect to the ongoing investigation into the ongoing Wilkes trial. The page on Brent Wilkes could probably also do with some fleshing out. In general I think all activities that the Duke was involved in should be on his page, with a summary and link from Wilkes page.--Conor Kenny 00:18, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
  • William Jefferson is really long. It should probably have all the bribery scandal information split off into a separate page that is then summarized and linked to from the main page. Lots of good stuff in there, but the scandal stuff should probably be reorganized to be a bit more cogent.--Conor Kenny 01:17, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
  • The section on John Tierney's supposed libertarian leanings should either be revised or removed. There are two sources cited -- the first does not contain the quote referenced in the entry as far as I can tell, and the second is an interview with a different John Tierney.--Squirrel
