Vernon Jones was a Democratic candidate for the Senate in Georgia

Vernon Jones was a Democratic candidate in the 2008 congressional elections for the Senate in Georgia. He is seeking the Democratic nomination to challenge incumbent Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.). Because no candidate received 50% of the vote in the July Democratic primary elections, Jones faced Jim Martin in an August 5th runoff and lost.[1]

Jones was seeking the Democratic nomination to challenge Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) in the 2008 congressional elections.[2][3][4] He will face Jim Martin in a runoff for the Democratic nomination on August 5, 2008.[5] He lost in runoff which took place on August 5, 2008. [1]
