Positions, record and controversies

Will's position on the war, based on his personal observations while deployed,is to begin turning over sections of Iraq to the Iraqi Army as they are certified as ready. This would reduce the troops on the ground by about half in the not too distant future.

Recognizing that the current income tax system is broken Will believes that it must be scrapped and replaced with a new tax system that is fair, hard to cheat, simple, and low.

He is an avid supporter of the advanced life saving technology of the MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) type vehicles and faults the current Congress for diverting funds from these to the "up-armoring" of humvees.

Breazeale is in favor of recognizing the change in the structure of the US Military to increase the use of the Reserves by making the reserve retirement more like the active forces system. Currently a reservist can retire after 20 years but must wait until age 60 to start receiving benefits, a restriction not faced by active duty forces retirees.

Breazeale is Pro Life, Pro Second Amendment and Anti Big government.[2]
