Don Cazayoux is a former Democratic representative from the 6th Congressional District (map) of Louisiana. On May 3, 2008, Cazayoux defeated Woody Jenkins in a special election to replace Rep. Richard Baker (R), who resigned in January 2008.[1] Cazayoux was defeated by Bill Cassidy(R) in the general election.

Bio

Cazayoux was born in Lousiana and earned a B.S. and M.A. from Lousiana State University before getting his J.D. from Georgetown Law School. He served as an assistant district attorney from 1996-2000 and was a Lousiana state representative from 2000-2008.[2]

2008 elections

On May 3, Cazayoux defeated Woody Jenkins in a special election to replace Rep. Richard Baker (R-La.), who resigned in January 2008.[3][4][1] Cazayoux was defeated by Bill Cassidy (R) in the November general election.
