NO, NO, NO! 2010 cannot get here fast enough. Looking soooo forward to voting in next year’s Congressional races. Even if I have to walk to the polls because I have no money to buy a car….I’m going. See ya later Dems and moderates!

  • fanofos 06/26/2009 11:08am

On CSPAN Now. Debating HR 2454. Republicans are asking for over 300 additional pages of this legislation that was added overnight. Dems will not produce a copy of the additional pages.

This bill will raise the Central States as much as $200 per month/2,000 per year. Can the elderly or the poor handle this amount. What’s the price of dog food now-a-days?

No, the elderly and poor cannot handle this. Neither can the middle class. Not to worry, health care reform is coming right behind this to save the day! Not.

This is incredible. I never believed that our American system could be hijacked like this has been. How is it that they add 300 pages to a hotly debated bill at 2am -and don’t give anyone time to review this before the vote TODAY? Legislation is SLOW for a reason, it gives time for education on the topic and a fair decision. Incredible. I would vote no just because I don’t have a copy in front of me to study and it seems like they are trying to shove this down my throat. I, as an American, almost feel threatened by this.

One of the major contributors to this video, Dr. Willie Soon, published a paper in the journal “Climate Research” that argued – or better, tried to argue against human-induced climate change. The weird thing about this is that his research was mostly funded by – drumroll please – none other than the American Petroleum Institute, the multi-billion dollar corporate oil lobby that would maybe – just maybe benefit in trying to convince people that we don’t need to switch over to alternative energy. Coincidence? Hmmm.
Also no surprise that half of the editorial board of Climate Research, the journal that published the paper, resigned in protest against what they felt was a failure of the peer review process on the part of the journal.
Just one example of many. I can keep going down the list of this video’s 14 or 15 contributors and expose each one of them for the fraud that they are, if you want.

American workers and returning Veterans looking for good Jobs need a Renewable Energy Standard of 25% by 2025 to create millions of Jobs, free ourselves from reliance on foreign energy and reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. The Coal industry is fighting tooth and nail against anything that prices Coal appropriately for its environmental damages but the Future of the USA is not Coal, its Wind, Solar, Biomass, Biofuels, Geothermal, Hydro and Hybrid Power for the most Jobs, income, and Tax Revenue. Failure to look beyond Coal is costing America Millions of potential Jobs and Infrastructure improvements.

right on. the GOP is bought and paid for by big oil/coal. I’m no scienctist but the weather is messed up, for what ever reason. the climate has changed, and it is changing faster.

  • liveride 06/26/2009 1:30pm

We the veterans who have served our country with blood reject the Oil and Coal Lobbyists twisted vision for America’s future. We will create a better future with clear air and water, with polluters paying for their environmental and health damages, and for Industries creating Millions of sustainable Jobs for American Workers and returning Veterans who put their Lives on the line every day for our country, all while making us Globally competitive in Renewable Energy and efficiency technologies.

This bill will increase the amount of money the average American spends for energy and encourage businesses to move production and jobs overseas. The “science” behind “green” segment of the bill is shoddy at best. This is an obvious grab by the federal government of our hard earned money. Nothing but a freakin tax increase!

  • Nevada912er 06/26/2009 2:18pm

This bill is the biggest recruiting agent for a return to original Constitutional government. I pray to God we can do it peacefully.

  • GrnEydGuy 06/26/2009 2:25pm

FRAUD! Once again the people of America are sold out to big business and government bureaucracy.

The inevitable balance of justice will return and those who have perpetrated these atrocities WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

We, the People of the United States, Should Be Taxed for Global Warming Which Doesn’t Exist In Fact?? We, The Peple of the United States, Should Transfer BILLIONS of Dollars Overseas to Appease the United Nations Because We Are A Productive Nation??

As Adolph Hitler said 0ver 70 years ago, “The broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds, they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. Therefore, make the lie big, make it simple, keep saying it, and eventually they will believe it. What good fortune for governments that the people do not think.”

    …wait, what?
Also said by Adolf Hitler 70 years ago:
“Humanitarianism is the expression of stupidity and cowardice.”
“I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator.” (uhh didn’t he have something to do with sanctioning the systematic genocide of over 6 million people?)
“Those who want to live, let them fight, and those who do not want to fight in this world of eternal struggle do not deserve to live.”
“The very first essential for success is a perpetually constant and regular employment of violence.”
Yeah! Let’s use Hitler quotes to back up our arguments! I think the Holocaust was a tax scheme created by the government, too! Let’s put officials in office, then complain about whatever they try to do with our tax money! That’s the way to move forward! The Third Reich lives! Vote Republican!
    grow up, morons.

" I think the Holocaust was a tax scheme created by the government,"

Your ignorance shows in this statement. The Holocaust was not about taxing, as you arrogantly mock, it was about control. That is what happens when you give Government total control. In much the same way as the Holocaust, TAXES ARE ABOUT CONTROL! Make fun of the comment as you wish, however both, although one more deadly, are about control.

And by the way, people are complaining about them spending our tax money. They are not spending our tax money. They burnt through that long ago and are now spending money we don’t have….

The whole concept of a cap-and-trade tax is based on the myth that mankind is endangered by global warming due to the man-made buildup of “greenhouse gases” in the atmosphere. You can verify for yourself that the scientific case for man-caused global warming is far from settled by viewing online some of the presentations by 80 prominent climate experts at the “2009 International Conference on Climate Change,” March 8-10, New York City (http://www.heartland.org/events/NewYork09/newyork09.html).

Examples of such cap-and-trade legislation introduced in the 110th Congress were the Dingell-Boucher Cap-and-Trade Bill, and the Lieberman-Warner America’s Climate Security Act.

Such legislation would place additional, burdensome regulations and taxes upon U.S. energy producers, and increase the cost of energy products to the consumer.

a little research yields that despite this conference refusing to release a full list of its cosponsors, the major sponsor – the Heritage Foundation –
Received $565,000 from ExxonMobil between 1998-2006.
Received $2,417,000 from Koch Foundations between 1986-2005.
Received $23,096,640 from Scaife Foundations between 1985-2006.
These are organizations funded by energy, industrial and banking companies. They have contributed tens of millions of dollars to right-wing think tanks, many cosponsors of this conference. At one point The Scaife Foundation group’s largest holding was stock in the Gulf Oil Corporation. Coincidence?

If you really want to look at where energy companies are sending their money, neither party is clean. ExxonMobil (like most big companies) sends about equal amounts to both parties. Its essentially nothing more than a bribe.

Enron was one of the biggest supporters of Cap-and-Trade. Exxon doesn’t want it, but if it happens, they want to be able to lobby for more credits and cheaper credits.

Majority of the House of Representatives? Only 33 percent of Americans support this bill? Who is representing who? Kind of makes you wonder who is pulling the strings and who has WHAT on WHOM? This bill is so corrupt. Like I said before, 2010 can not get here fast enough. Then we will see who will be representing us.
