Those this bill will likely expedite the passing of legislation I am in favor of, the changes to the “motion to recommit” may have long lasting implications both in terms of the transparency of debate, debate content and the eventual results.

I do favor the changes for “gender neutrality”, but they are still just symantics for most intents and purposes.

The removal of the “Medicare Trigger” could be a blessing or a curse. I’m anxious to see if we can make this a mute point through overall healthcare reform.

Surprisingly, as much as I dislike Barney Frank, during the debate over the motion to recommit promptly, he made a lot of sense. So, my objections to the rules package are limited to the abolishing of term limits on chairs of committees, the removal of the medicare trigger, and the rule that lobbyists can’t attend the same exercise facilities as congressmen. I voted yes because I can definitely understand the removal of term limits because the best man for the job should be selected not because someone has exceeded the limit. The other two complaints, well, that’s where we need to learn to compromise instead of only engaging in partisan bickering (i.e. David Dreier).
