I missed that one.

If I watch Cspan too much these days I risk smashing my TV…so I keep it to UI stuff now. That is bad enough…

That sounds about typical for Congress these days,

But they scream how the rich need huge tax cuts while also screaming how they must cut lots of things that help the lower 90%.

Income inequality: It wasn’t always this way

In recent decades, the bulk of income growth in America has gone to the top 10% of families, but that was not always the case. Throughout most of the 20th Century, the bottom 90% claimed a much larger share of income growth than they have in recent years.

Between 1948 and 1979, a period of strong overall economic growth and productivity in the United States, the richest 10% of families accounted for 33% of average income growth, while the bottom 90% accounted for 67%. The overall distribution of income was stable for these three decades. In an extreme contrast, during the most recent economic expansion between 2000 and 2007, the period that led up to the Great Recession, the richest 10% accounted for a full 100% of average income growth.

This is interesting,

99ers Have a Question – Could the H.R 6556 Benefits Come From Illegal Workers Suspense Files? – If Not, Why?

Why isn’t this money being used for unemployment benefits? Why would it be available to an illegal alien upon amnesty? This goes beyond insanity and current rules need to be re-evaluated. Current emergencies require special circumstances and monies from all sources need to be considered. If this money is no longer in a so-called special fund, then where the hell is it, and why isn’t being used?

Americans are through playing games and want answers, especially when there is $800 billion dollars floating around that could be partially freed up. Especially if acquired through fraud from illegal aliens.

Maybe somebody from Washington could enlighten us on why this money isn’t being used. And if there is no account actually holding this money, then where the hell is it?

It’s nice to see on the overview page that Lee has 47 other co-sponsors for this bill, although I did not see one republican listed…let’s keep digging, a little republican support would be absolutely HUGE!!!

The Term “Semper Fi” meant “Always Faithful” has always resonated in this former U.S.Marines heart. There are many other service personnel like me out there. Trying to find a job and raise a family is not as easy as it once was, but we continue to search. Sacrificing our lives for a better country and protect and save lives of people we do not even know and yet, the best decent thanks each of us receive is a job well done, a piece of paper that acknowledges our pride and commitment for outstanding service to our country. This said and not that I am ungrateful, but it does nothing to secure a job on the outside. It does nothing to put food on the table or shelter over the many families that continue to be impoverish and struggling. “We the People” simple three words that voiced our American way of life, had purpose and meaning. Now is not the tie to turn our backs, but come together as One Country in our darkest hours. Your fellow American Man ,Woman and Child need you America !!!!

Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) continues to look for Republican support for her proposed bill to add 14 weeks of unemployment benefits for 99ers, those who’ve exhausted all available unemployment benefits.

She released a statement this morning inviting Republican members of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Resources, who were holding a hearing this morning focused on the plight of the unemployed, to co-sponsor her bill.

Geoff Davis (R-Ken.), who chairs the committee, said the hearing was about answering the question: “Are we doing everything we can to help the unemployed find jobs?” He added, "The number of unemployed and the length of unemployment durations have grown to record levels, despite billions of dollars spent on benefits and services designed to help them find new work. This hearing will provide an opportunity to review that issue, and ask what we can do to make this system work better.”

3.9 Million Americans Ran Out Of Unemployment Benefits In 2010: Report

Last year, 3.9 million Americans ran out of unemployment insurance benefits, according to a new analysis provided to HuffPost by the National Employment Law Project.

Those 3.9 million are not necessarily still unemployed, and not all of them are necessarily “99ers” — people who exhausted the maximum 99 weeks of benefits currently available in 25 states — but the number offers a dramatic reminder that the longest-ever unemployment lifeline is still not long enough for some Americans to climb out of the deepest jobs hole since the Great Depression.
