    This makes absolutely no sense because if the adjustment to pay was not set to inflation they can set their pay scales wherever they want, high or low, and since most representatives and senators serve more than one term, there is a clear potential conflict of interest. This is at the same time as the “chained-CPI” proposal which will lower the adjustment to Social Security payments from the CPI measure they currently use for Seniors, many of whom get all their income from social security. This reeks of corruption.
