What is the hold up on unemployment extension. People across this nation are losing their homes due to foreclosure. A lot of people here in Georgia have lost almost everthing due to the flood and you want to hold up on the unemployment extension. Shame on you, Shame on you.

    Senator Hatch:

Though I am thankful for your service as one of your constituents, you need to be replaced. You need to give place for a larger variety of people to serve in the same capacity. You have been serving well, but too long. You are a capable representative, but you are no more capable nor qualified than any other patriot to serve as a U.S. Senator. The longer you keep your position, the more you spread the myth that clout is needed in the Senate. Clout is not a requirement for service in the Senate – the only thing that is needed is an understanding of the proper and limited role of government.

While you serve, I encourage you to work to dissolve every bureaucracy and agency that is destructive of individual freedom (the large majority of them) – that will be the greatest service you can provide. Make government less involved with our personal lives and more involved in responding to those who initiate force against the innocent.

    Best wishes.

The more I learn about Sen. Hatch’s history, the less I find that he has in common with Utah. I agree that he’s been beneficial to the common, though admittedly belief biased, good. I do feel, however, that he’s not done anything groundbreaking that we would expect a frontrunner or an “individual with clout” to perform. With the technology and medical sector bursting in this area, we need someone who can recognize this and gain some additional benefit for us to grow.

I want to see some movement to expand the business sectors that need more infrastructure to get started. I don’t see Sen. Hatch as the one to do it. We need some incentives, invention and ingenuity to allow these industries to grow in Utah.

I live in Missouri, but God bless your governor for having the courage and fortitude to STAND UP for your state’s SOVEREIGNTY and claim your land back from the Feds. The federal government is TOTALLY out of control! I urge you to stand with your governor and EVERY elected official in Utah in support of this action and DON’T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER! Utah is YOURS, your rights come from God not the Feds and don’t let them tell anyone in Utah otherwise. There will almost certainly be some pain associated with weaning ourselves off of the federal government teet, but without doing so we will no longer have freedom or liberty.

“Liberty must at all hazards be supported. We have a right to it, derived from our Maker. But if we had not, our fathers have earned and bought it for us, at the expense of their ease, their estates, their pleasure, and their blood.”

Tips on how to spot a crazy:
    1) types in all caps
    2) mentions ‘Satan’ at least 3 times in their post
    3) excessive ‘creative’ punctuation ie ~ **** !!!! ????
    4) posts form no cohesive idea but rather ramble nonsensically
    5) their endless posts dominate the entire forum

The list can go on, but seriously, if you want us to just block everything you say, just continue following the aforementioned list.
    Thank you

I am interested to know, Senator, why you continue to obstruct help to the unemployed? If it is a question of cost, consider the cost of all those who are unemployed going on welfare. Or the cost of lost mortgages, rents, car loans, and the hundred other things these people will no longer be paying for. A question of taxes? UI is taxed, just like all other income, so not a reasonable excuse. Please, for the sake of all of us, help this extension pass. Your constituents need this.

I am unemployed, and I am disgusted by your recent proposal to force me to take a drug test. It is degrading, insulting, and humiliating. I have never taken drugs, and I never will, but in the spirit of compromise, I offer my own proposal: I will submit to your drug testing after you and every other Republican tell me how many hookers you’ve spent our tax dollars on this week you filthy hypocrite. Wanna reduce this nation’s debt? RESIGN!!! Not paying your salary will help a lot! And don’t worry about the recession hitting you; I’m sure all your corporate and Wall Street buddies will continue to line your pockets for years of faithful service to them and not to us.

You are a disgrace to your country and should be embarrassed to have the UNITED STATES in front of your title.4th of July is upon us-it reminds us of history and how the people can come together to make a difference.I hope you and your family meet the same outcome as the 15,000,000+ unemployed. You turned your back on the Citizens by playing games and stupid antics.Assistance needs to be offered to ease the minds of the families and allow continued dignity no matter the cost. You spend OUR money like water and the American people MUST and SHOULD be priority one!
“As good government is an empire of laws, how shall your laws be made? In a large society, inhabiting an extensive country,it is impossible that the whole should assemble to make laws. The first necessary step, then,is to depute power from the many to a few of the most wise and good.”
John Adams, Thoughts on Government, 1776
Obviously we dont have the few wise and good in the senate-but we have the power to change that..

You are the biggest idiot I have ever seen. Sad excuse for a human being.

  • pelmof 06/29/2010 6:54am

    Dear Senator Hatch,
S.3520 needs to be passed immediately. There are 15 million Americans who are “unemployed through no fault of their own,” and who are also frantically attempting to find new jobs that do not exist. The majority of these 15 million have a family dependent upon their income, so that increases the number to possibly 30 or even 45 million Americans who are in imminent danger of losing everything. When this happens, the financial and moral ramifications for this country will be dire indeed. I’ll say it again— S.3520 needs to be passed immediately! Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

I’ll tell you what I tell the Democrats. Stay out of our pocketbooks, our healthcare, our jobs, our speech, our religion, and our lives. We don’t need more laws. YOUR job is to kill these regulations so we can have more jobs. Picking on the porn industry is only going to kill jobs. The adult industry not only employs naked people – there are webmasters, writers, photographers, server administrators, mail room people, etc and it is a BIG part of the economy. Don’t embarrass the other Republicans and stick to what you were hired to do: PROTECT THE CONSTITUTION. I’m a registered Republican, but I’m about to change to Libertarian if you Republicans go religion crazy on me.

I didn’t really know much about you, until I saw you sponsored Senate Resolution 3. I read the resolution and it was full of loopholes. I was disgusted. I went to see who sponsored it and it was: Orrin Hatch, you. Then I saw on your page it said you sponsored a resolution to support Israel. I was even more annoyed. If you really want to fulfill your conservative dreams, why don’t you just leave Congress and give someone else the chance. The money spent on your salary will be saved and used for better purposes.

I demand transparency with our government, no more B.S, executive orders, and secret meetings, LISTEN to what the people you represent are telling you not to the money being handed around congress. Take notice I put this topic under Ethics. can you guess why?
