California's 33rd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California based in Los Angeles County. The district is currently represented by Democrat Henry Waxman, who announced his retirement in 2014 after 40 years in Congress. The current crop of eligible candidates include State Senator Ted Lieu, former Mayoral candidate Wendy Greuel, attorneys Elan Carr, Barbara Mulvaney and Tom Fox, television producer Brent Roske, author and speaker Marianne Williamson, broadcaster Matt Miller, and public defender David Kanuth.
