Eric Garcetti "is President of the Los Angeles City Council. As a councilmember, Garcetti led the creation of a $100 million Affordable Housing Trust Fund, the establishment of the country's largest environmentally sensitive Green Building Initiative, and the expansion of health care provision and living-wage jobs through a new Healthcare Career Ladder. Global Green and former President Mikhail Gorbachev awarded the councilmember with a Green Cross Millennium Award in recognition of his environmental work. Garcetti studied urban planning and political science at Columbia University, where he received his B.A. and M.A. in International Relations. He studied as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University and the London School of Economics." [1]
