WMUR Commitment 2010 Senate Candidates On The Issues - Commitment 2010. WMUR Channel 9 New Hampshire. 2010.
“BP’s Deepwater Horizon is an ongoing tragedy for the Gulf Coast region, its economy, and the environment. We must fully investigate the cause of this tragic accident. BP must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law and the lessons learned from this accident should be included as part of strict safety standards for offshore exploration moving forward.”- Guinta

WMUR Commitment 2010 Senate Candidates On The Issues - Commitment 2010. WMUR Channel 9 New Hampshire. 2010.
“An “all-of-the-above” market oriented approach to our energy policy is the best approach. Simple economics will tell you that if we drill here, we pay less. Despite the tragic spill in the Gulf, I still firmly believe we should harvest our domestic oil resources and stop giving money to foreign countries that certainly don't have our best interests in mind. It is as much a National Security issue as it is an Energy issue.”- Guinta

WMUR Commitment 2010 Senate Candidates On The Issues - Commitment 2010. WMUR Channel 9 New Hampshire. 2010.
“First-off, I am against the proposed Cap and Trade legislation passed by the House last year. A U.S. Department of Treasury report found that a cap-and-trade law would cost American taxpayers up to $200 billion a year; the equivalent of hiking personal income taxes by about 15 percent. That being said, we can and should significantly increase our clean energy resources through the development of wind, solar, biomass, biofuels and other alternative energy sources and the expansion of Nuclear Power.”- Guinta

Protecting Our Families and Providing for Our Defense. . Guinta supports a strong national defense and believes that “it is imperative that we stay vigilant and ensure that our national defense remains the strongest force in the world.” He believes in responsibly addressing threats and supporting our borders. He believe that we “must always have the resources necessary to respond and meet any challenge that we are confronted with.”

WMUR Commitment 2010 Senate Candidates On The Issues - Commitment 2010. WMUR Channel 9 New Hampshire. 2010.
“I will sponsor, co-sponsor, or support a bill that repeals the takeover of healthcare by the federal government. I believe that we must replace the current legislation with free market reforms like removing interstate boundaries to health plans, allowing business to pool their resources to get better rates, and tort reform. This type of common sense approach will make healthcare more affordable and available to the American people.”-Guinta
