Small business tax cuts

Rangel and McCrery announced on February 9, 2007, that they had reached a bipartisan agreement to propose a coupling of small business tax cuts with the increase in the federal minimum wage. The proposal was revenue-neutral, attempting to appeal to both parties and ensure the practical path of the minimum wage increase. [1]

Raising Private Equity Fund Manager's tax rate from 15% to 35%( H.R. 2834)

Sandy Levin (D-MI) would treat this as ordinary income, rather than giving it a special tax break. [2]
